Four arrested after police attacked near Hanover Park voting station

Four suspects, including two minors aged 16 to 20, were arrested after a group threw stones and beer bottles at police near Hanover Park Civic Centre in Cape Town. Violence broke out shortly after 10am on Wednesday, when Anti-Gang Unit officers intervening as two groups pelted each other with stones were attacked. One officer suffered an injury to his left hand and fired three warning shots; Public Order Police were then deployed. Colonel Andre Traut said the suspects were allegedly linked to a local gang, and voting continued without interruption.
