Trump to name intelligence chief Clayton as AI tsar: Reports

U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to appoint Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton to oversee the development of the U.S. artificial intelligence industry, according to multiple news outlets. The announcement could come as early as Friday. Clayton, a former U.S. Attorney and SEC chairman, was confirmed by the Senate in July and succeeded Bill Pulte, who served as acting director. It is unclear whether Clayton will hold the role of AI tsar alongside his DNI responsibilities.
