Schengen and US visas: Travelers arrested at AIBD as new fraud scheme is uncovered

On October 14, Senegal’s National Division for the Fight Against Migrant Smuggling took custody of four travelers arrested at AIBD with Senegalese passports bearing suspect visas for the Schengen area and the United States. The investigation confirmed the fraud and led to the arrest of S. A. K. Gaye, known as “Jackson,” followed by D. Ka, who was arrested on October 16 in Diogo, in the Thiès region. The travelers said they had paid between 4 million and 6 million CFA francs for visas to Italy, the United States and Canada. Jackson said he passed the money to D. Ka, who said he transferred it to A. M. T. and a man named David; both denied making the fraudulent visas or knowing they were fake.
