Cristiano Ronaldo tipped to buy 20% of Al-Nassr, which has €184 million in debt

Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), which controls Al-Nassr, is negotiating the sale of a majority stake to US investment firm RedBird Capital Partners, according to Bloomberg. RedBird is reportedly considering buying 70% of the club for about $267 million, while Cristiano Ronaldo could acquire up to 20%. Before a deal, the PIF is seeking to clear Al-Nassr’s debts, estimated at 800 million riyals, or about €184 million, partly through new sponsorship contracts. Talks remain at an early stage, and reports of Ronaldo taking a stake in the club in 2025 were never officially confirmed.

It called for safeguards against unilateral decisions and stronger coordination among existing regulators.
