18 students join Nelson Mandela-Fidel Castro medical programme

Eighteen young people from disadvantaged communities in Gauteng have been selected to study medicine in Cuba through the Nelson Mandela Fidel Castro Medical Training Programme. Following a competitive selection process, these students, comprising 10 males and 8 females, were chosen from 2,480 applications. The programme aims to create access to medical education for talented youth facing financial barriers and to strengthen primary healthcare services in South Africa.
