Lagos records 33,009 domestic, sexual violence cases in five years — AG

The Lagos State Government recorded 33,009 cases of domestic and sexual violence between September 2021 and July 2026, with 13,515 incidents of domestic violence. Attorney-General Lawal Pedro emphasized the need to support victims and address the psychological consequences for children exposed to violence. As of July 2026, 4,013 cases had been reported, reflecting a 23.6% decline compared to previous years.
