Rainfall in Senegal: 17 localities placed under high surveillance, Dakar still on alert

Several localities in Senegal are on alert for possible rain and thunderstorms until 8 p.m. on September 28, 2026. The Casamance region, including Ziguinchor, Bignona, Oussouye, Cap Skirring, Diouloulou, Goudomp, Sédhiou, and Marsassoum, is particularly at risk, with conditions potentially worsening in the afternoon. Other areas such as Kolda, Vélingara, Kounkané, and Médina Yoro Foulah are also under watch, along with the Southeast regions like Tambacounda, Kédougou, Saraya, Salémata, and Koumpentoum. The Dakar region, Rufisque, Diamniadio, Thiès, Mbour, Saly, Joal-Fadiouth, Diourbel, Fatick, Kaolack, and Kaffrine face localized rain, especially in the afternoon. The northern regions, including Saint-Louis, Richard-Toll, Dagana, Podor, Matam, Linguère, and Louga, show weaker or uncertain signals.
