Constant Mutamba, the former Minister of Justice, was sentenced to 10 years of hard labor by the Kinshasa Court of Cassation on September 18, 2026. His co-defendant, Chançard Bolukola, received a seven-year sentence. Both men are also deprived of their voting and eligibility rights for five years and excluded from any public office. This ruling pertains to the alleged embezzlement of over 20 million dollars intended for compensating victims of illegal activities by Uganda in the DRC.
