Troops neutralize suspected bandits in Kogi shootout

Troops from Sector 3 of Joint Task Force Operation Whirl Stroke ambushed suspected bandits along the Adankolo–Apata Road in Kogi State, following intelligence about their movement in Kabba-Bunu and Lokoja. After contact with the suspects, the troops forced them to flee. During a search operation at about 9 p.m., they found the bodies of two suspected bandits near Adankolo Forest and recovered a locally made pistol, a cartridge and an empty 7.62mm ammunition case. Major General Moses Gara commended the troops and urged the public to provide security agencies with timely, credible information.
