Yemen government forces widen attacks against Houthis: What we know

Yemen’s government forces have conducted multiple air and ground operations in Taiz province over the past 24 hours, intensifying attacks against the Iran-backed Houthi group. The military claimed strikes on Houthi positions in five locations across the province. Since the fighting resumed in July, around 130,000 people have been displaced, with Houthis making significant territorial gains by capturing the city of Mocha and expanding control over the Bab al-Mandeb Strait. Rashad al-Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, has called for citizens to mobilize against the Houthis, while Saudi Arabia seeks support from allies like Pakistan and Turkey amid ongoing attacks.
