The Obidient Movement condemned Works Minister Dave Umahi for linking Peter Obi to IPOB ahead of the January 16, 2027 presidential election. In a statement signed by Onyeka Dike, the movement urged Umahi to end what it called a smear campaign and answer questions about his alleged criminal records. It said IPOB publicly disowned Obi’s presidential bid in 2022 and argued that supporting Obi does not prove membership in the separatist group. The movement also said Obi has condemned violence linked to enforced sit-at-home orders and called for dialogue and lawful solutions to insecurity in the South East.
