2027: Benue govt, PDP clash over campaign posters, billboards

The Benue State Environmental Sanitation Authority (BENSESA) warned political parties and candidates against the unauthorized erection of billboards and posting of campaign posters. This directive, signed by BENSESA's General Manager, Mr. Anta Igbaato, triggered a sharp reaction from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which accused Governor Hyacinth Alia's administration of attempting to stifle opposition activities ahead of the 2027 general elections. The PDP described the measure as 'anti-democratic' and a 'threat to free political participation.'
