Benin: 3 dead and 8 injured after the collapse of a water tower from the CoSo project in Ouaké

The collapse of a water tower under construction in Wakité, Ouaké municipality, resulted in three deaths and eight injuries on the night of September 14 to 15, 2026. Rescue teams recovered the bodies of the victims and provided medical care to the injured, including one critical case transferred to the Departmental Hospital Center of Donga. The structure was part of the Social Cohesion Project (CoSo), funded by the World Bank, aimed at improving access to social services and hydraulic infrastructure in the region.
