Livret A at 1.7%: why your savings are still losing purchasing power

The Livret A rate rises to 1.7% starting August 1, 2026, after a continuous decline since February 2023. However, with inflation excluding tobacco reaching 2.4%, savers will continue to lose purchasing power. The popular savings account (LEP) remains at 2.5%, despite an expected decrease, and concerns 12 million holders in France. This increase in the Livret A marks the first in over three years.
