PRES: We finally know what blocked Ousmane Sonko's recovery plan

The Economic and Social Recovery Plan (PRES), launched by Ousmane Sonko, generated 140.7 billion CFA francs in the first half of 2026, achieving only 63.6% of the target of 221.1 billion CFA francs. The main difficulties stem from the taxation of gambling, which shows a shortfall of 61.5 billion CFA francs, as well as issues in mineral exports and telecommunications. To address these problems, authorities plan to establish a platform to improve monitoring of gaming operators' activities.
