The Federal High Court in Abuja declined to declare the seat of Hussaini Jallo, representative for Igabi Federal Constituency in Kaduna State, vacant over his alleged defection from the PDP to the APC. Justice James Omotosho said the PDP had standing to bring the case but failed to provide credible evidence that Jallo had defected. The court rejected uncertified documents and ruled that a newspaper report amounted to documentary hearsay with no probative value. INEC also said it had not received a membership register showing that Jallo joined the APC.
