DRC-China: Beijing Reaffirms Support to Kinshasa and Promises to Strengthen Diplomatic Cooperation

China has reaffirmed its diplomatic support to the DRC, especially during its non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council in 2026-2027, as stated by Ambassador Zhao Bin in Kinshasa. Beijing supports the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of the DRC and backs efforts to de-escalate violence in the eastern regions. Economic ties are significant, with over $19.2 billion in trade in the first seven months of 2026, and China considers the DRC one of its top African partners. China also aims to strengthen cultural and people-to-people exchanges with the DRC.
