‘Learn from Macron’: ADC criticises Tinubu over Nigerians’ hardship

The African Democratic Congress Presidential Campaign Council (ADC-PCC) criticised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what it called a lack of empathy toward Nigerians facing insecurity, hunger and economic hardship. It urged him to follow French President Emmanuel Macron’s example after reports that Macron postponed a planned state visit to Nigeria on October 28–29, 2026, until early 2027 because of domestic challenges in France. The council cited attacks, abductions and community displacement across several states, and raised reports that more than 60 young people were detained in inhumane conditions in Niger State, with over 37 said to have died in custody.
