EAC seeks $45m to strengthen Ebola response

The East African Community (EAC) is seeking approximately $45 million from development partners to enhance regional preparedness and response to Ebola and other high-consequence infectious diseases. The funds will support training 500 frontline healthcare workers and community awareness programs targeting 15,000 people in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, said EAC Acting Director of Social Sectors, Dr Dorcas Omukhulu.
