Abia at 35: Orji Kalu put Abia in national conversation, made it punch above its weight — Chidoka

Former Minister of Aviation, Osita Chidoka, described the administration of former Abia State Governor, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, as a defining period in the state's political history. Chidoka emphasized that Kalu provided Abia with a strong voice and considerable visibility at the national level, particularly at the beginning of Nigeria's Fourth Republic. However, he noted that the momentum recorded during Kalu's era faded after he left office, leading to infrastructure deterioration and a diminished national standing for Abia.
