The Umuahia Capital Development Authority confirmed that occupants were duly notified beforehand, though some expressed difficulty in securing new homes or shops before the deadline. The new road, connecting the First Bank junction to Akanu Ibiam Road, aims to ease traffic congestion and restore the aesthetic appeal of the state capital. The affected structures included electronics dealers, dry cleaners near the Government House, and residents of the Railways Quarters.
