Abia govt seals piggery farm, residential building for alleged environmental pollution

The Abia State Environmental Protection Agency (ASEPA) sealed a piggery farm in Ipupe, Umuahia South, with a fine of N2.5 million for practices that could trigger a disease outbreak. It also sealed a three-storey building at Area 5, Agbama Housing Estate, where occupants allegedly discharged excreta into public drains. ASEPA's General Manager, Ogbonnaya Okereke, stated that these actions violated environmental laws, with the sealing authorized by a court in Umuahia.
