DRC: C64 renews call for political de-escalation and independent investigations into violence at opposition demonstrations

Meeting in Rome on October 26 and 27, 2026, the C64 Coalition called for an end to arbitrary arrests, intimidation and restrictions on peaceful political activity, as well as the return of political exiles. C64 also demanded the dissolution of the “Forces du progrès” militia and said the war in eastern DRC does not justify suppressing public freedoms.
