Abia selected for regional stroke and neurovascular centre

Abia State has been selected as the preferred site for a stroke and neurovascular centre serving Nigeria and West Africa, following its participation in the 2026 Sweden-Africa Neurosurgery Symposium in Gothenburg. He also announced a multisectoral working group and an Ebola preparedness plan, as well as the completion of specialist infectious disease facilities in Aba and Umuahia; no cases of Ebola, Lassa fever, COVID-19, diphtheria, cholera or avian influenza have been recorded in Abia.
