Abidjan hosts a Chinese medical giant: A week of free care on a hospital ship

The Chinese hospital ship « L’Arche de Bon Augure » will arrive in Abidjan from October 14 to 21, 2026, to provide free consultations and specialized care across 17 medical fields, including cardiology, diabetology, nephrology, neurology, pediatrics, gynecology, dermatology, ophthalmology, surgery, and traditional Chinese medicine. Registration is free but mandatory, closing on September 30, and can be done at various health centers in Abidjan. About 600 patients will be treated daily, offering significant relief for those who face barriers to accessing healthcare due to high costs, especially for chronic conditions like diabetes and hypertension. This humanitarian mission aims to improve healthcare access for vulnerable populations.
