Abiodun reassures Ijebuland on new Awujale and projects economic boom for Ogun East

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun said at a stakeholders’ meeting in Ijebu-Ode that a new Awujale would emerge before May 29, 2027, through a peaceful process with broad public acceptance. He urged Ijebuland residents to remain patient, noting the traditional institution’s importance to their identity and unity. Abiodun also forecast economic growth in Ogun East, driven by oil discoveries near Eba Island, the proposed Gateway Deep-Sea Port in Ogun Waterside and a planned Blue Marine Special Economic Zone. The projects could attract investment and create jobs in shipping, logistics, manufacturing and trade.
