ACP: Peace in DRC: AU Facilitators in Kinshasa to Meet President Tshisekedi

On October 8, 2026, Congolese President Félix Tshisekedi met with a delegation from the African Union Facilitators Panel in Kinshasa, following their visits to Goma and Kigali. The meeting focused on the progress of the peace process and the government's efforts to restore stability. The DRC now calls for concrete actions and sanctions against Rwanda, accused of supporting rebel groups, as the Congolese armed forces advance in Masisi and fighting continues near Rubaya and in South Kivu. The security situation remains tense with ongoing military operations.
