Activists accuse Israeli settlers of assault in occupied West Bank

Russian activist Adele Shoko says armed Israeli settlers assaulted her, US journalist Jasper Nathaniel and Israeli-Russian activist Andrey X in the Palestinian village of Umm al-Khair, in Masafer Yatta. In posts on X, she said the three were beaten and threatened, and that equipment and personal belongings were stolen. Nathaniel was reportedly pepper-sprayed and taken away by Israeli forces; Andrey X, who suffered a concussion and repeatedly lost consciousness, was detained and denied hospital treatment. The incident follows a settler attack on Palestinian olive harvesters in Abu Falah on October 16, when trees were set on fire and stones were thrown.
