ADC-PCC Urges National Assembly to Reject Tinubu’s $21 Billion Loan Over Lack of Transparency

The African Democratic Congress Presidential Campaign Council (ADC-PCC) urged the National Assembly to reject President Bola Tinubu’s proposed borrowing of $20 billion and £1 billion until the government discloses the facilities’ details and expected benefits. The council also demanded disclosure of the loans’ purposes, interest rates, repayment periods, fees and guarantees, warning that borrowing without transparency could deepen Nigeria’s debt burden and threaten its economic sovereignty.

The party is led by Issa Tchiroma Bakary, who has been in exile in Gambia since November 2025 and continues to contest the election results. The suspension comes as court proceedings are ongoing and convictions have been handed down, including by the Yaoundé Military Tribunal.
