ADF in Beni: MONUSCO recommends maintaining a mobile presence and strengthening early warning systems

MONUSCO Chief James Swan met emphasis on maintaining a mobile, robust, and reactive presence in Beni, Congo, to protect civilians from ADF attacks. He discussed enhancing early warning mechanisms and strengthening cooperation with the FARDC. From January to September, nearly 4,000 joint patrols were conducted, and six mobile bases are deployed to improve response capabilities. Despite multiple military operations, ADF fighters continue to commit atrocities in Beni, Irumu, and Mambasa regions.
