Advertising agreements: Prime Minister approves resumption, but under supervision

The Prime Minister approved resuming advertising agreements with media outlets, while establishing an interministerial ad hoc committee to oversee the allocation and monitoring of public advertising investments. The decision follows a request from the Minister of Communication, Telecommunications and Digital Affairs dated August 6, 2023, and cites reforms including implementation of the Press Code and the establishment of the National Media Regulatory Council. Chaired by a representative of the Prime Minister, the committee will include representatives of the Presidency, several ministries, the newspaper Le Soleil, RTS and private media. Its duties include applying transparent criteria, promoting a fairer distribution of funds and monitoring how public resources are used.
