AFCON 2025: CAS to rule on Morocco-Senegal final at the end of November

The Court of Arbitration for Sport, based in Lausanne, began deliberations after its October 8 hearing and expects to issue a reasoned ruling in several weeks, around the end of November. The dispute concerns the January 18 final in Rabat, which Senegal won 1-0 after extra time and which was marked by Senegalese players briefly leaving the pitch after Morocco was awarded a penalty that Brahim Diaz missed. On March 17, the CAF appeals committee declared Senegal to have forfeited and awarded Morocco a 3-0 win, citing Articles 82 and 84 of the competition regulations. The Senegalese Football Federation appealed the decision to CAS, which must now rule on the case.
