AFCON 2027 Qualifiers: DR Congo's Successful Start

The Leopards of DR Congo won their opening match of the 2027 AFCON qualifiers against Equatorial Guinea, 2-0 at the Martyrs Stadium. Chancel Mbemba scored early in the 3rd minute from a free kick by Nathanaël Mbuku, and Yoane Wissa added a second goal after an earlier disallowed goal for Equatorial Guinea. DR Congo is now preparing to face Zimbabwe in Harare on September 28.
