AFCON 2027Q: Awoniyi replaces Osimhen in Super Eagles' squad for Madagascar, Guinea-Bissau

Taiwo Awoniyi has been called up to replace injured Victor Osimhen in Nigeria's squad for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau. The Nigeria Football Federation confirmed that Osimhen, who is recovering from a muscle strain, will miss the qualifiers. The Super Eagles are set to open camp in Uyo on Monday before facing Madagascar at home next Thursday and traveling to Bissau to play Guinea-Bissau on Tuesday, September 29.
