Alex Iwobi was voted Man of the Match following Nigeria’s hard-fought 2-1 victory over Madagascar in Uyo during the opening match of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. He assisted debutant George Ilenikhena for the equalizer at the 45th minute and played the entire game, working well with captain Wilfred Ndidi. This was Iwobi’s 101st appearance for Nigeria, as they look ahead to their next match against Guinea-Bissau on Tuesday.
