African Court to move into own premises in Arusha from 2027

The African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights is set to move into a new permanent building at Laki-Laki Hills in Arusha in 2027, near the UN Mechanism for Tribunals. The new courthouse is still being finalized, and the court will continue operating from its current premises in Majengo until then. Recently, the court held its 82nd Ordinary Session, handling 29 cases and issuing 6 decisions, as part of its 20th-anniversary celebrations with various activities across Africa. The relocation is part of preparations for the anniversary events and ongoing judicial activities.
