African Union: Madické Niang on electoral mission to São Tomé and Príncipe

The African Union has appointed Madické Niang to lead a pre-electoral assessment mission to São Tomé and Príncipe ahead of the presidential election scheduled for July 2026. The mission, taking place from April 26 to May 2, 2026, aims to enhance the transparency and credibility of electoral processes. Before his departure, Niang informed Senegalese authorities, including the president and the prime minister. A former state minister and 2019 presidential candidate, he is committed to responsibly representing the African Union and Senegal.
