After Democrats’ House victory, Robert Garcia warns Trump: “Get lawyers”

After Democrats won the House of Representatives on November 3, 2026, Robert Garcia warned Donald Trump: “Get lawyers.” Garcia is expected to become chair of the House Oversight Committee when the new Congress convenes in January and has promised investigations into the Trump family, corporate corruption, abuses by the Department of Homeland Security and ICE, and the concealment of Epstein files. Democrats do not yet have subpoena power, and vote counts in several contested districts were still underway. Garcia already leads the committee’s Democrats, having defeated Stephen Lynch in a June 2025 vote.
