After Douala-Bafoussam axis, Paul Biya releases 228 billion FCFA for the modernization of an international corridor - Lebledparle

Cameroonian President Paul Biya signed on October 2, 2026, decree n°2026/321 authorizing a €347.5 million (approximately 228 billion FCFA) loan from the World Bank for the Douala-Bangui economic corridor project. This 1500 km route connects the Douala port to Bangui, handling over 80% of Central African Republic's foreign trade. The project aims to upgrade infrastructure, lower transportation costs, and improve traffic flow, as part of a broader initiative funded by the World Bank, including reconstruction of National Road 3 between Yaoundé and Édéa.
