After French giants, Russia places German Metro assets under temporary administration – La Nouvelle Tribune

On September 28, Vladimir Poutine signed a decree placing the Russian assets of German distributor Metro under temporary administration, including Metro Warehouse Noguinsk and Retail Property 5. This follows a previous measure on September 17 targeting French groups Auchan, Leroy Merlin, FM Logistic, and Swiss Nestlé. Metro's Russian subsidiary earned approximately 2.5 billion euros in 2025, and the administration is assigned to UK Torg Rus, led by Johannes Maria Tolay, who has been managing the Russian branch since April 2023.
