After Senegal's World Cup fiasco: MPs investigate, Lions to be summoned soon

Eliminated in the group stage of the 2026 World Cup, the Senegalese national team is subject to an unprecedented parliamentary inquiry. The National Assembly's Commission on Education, Youth, Sports and Leisure announced public hearings starting July 22, 2026. The investigation will cover preparation conditions, administrative, financial and logistical management, and governance of Senegal's participation. Hearings will involve public authorities, officials of the Senegalese Football Federation, and technical and administrative staff.
