After seven hours of surgery, Boni Yayi continues his recovery in Berlin

Former Beninese president Thomas Boni Yayi underwent a seven-hour surgery in Berlin to address a herniated disc. He is currently in intensive care and undergoing rehabilitation. His evacuation was authorized by President Romuald Wadagni, with support from former President Patrice Talon and the Ministry of Health. Boni Yayi had recently agreed to sit in the newly established Beninese Senate.
