Five days after the floods hit the Rasuwa and Nuwakot regions, over 4,700 people are missing. A lake formation near the Nepal-Tibet border may trigger a second flood. Nepal urgently needs funded investments in early-warning systems for glacial and flood hazards, as well as monitoring unstable glaciers and landslide-dammed lakes.
