Chad will eliminate visa requirements for all African nationals starting January 1, 2027, announced President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno at the opening of the first African Water Forum in N'Djamena. This measure is part of a continental trend initiated by Rwanda in 2013 and followed by countries like Benin, Kenya, and Togo. The president also unveiled a national water pact worth $3.8 billion over five years to fund hydraulic infrastructure.
