Agboville: Fake Burkinabè international footballer defrauds hotelier of 850,000 CFA francs (2)

In Agboville, a man identifying himself as Djibril Compaoré, a former Burkinabè international footballer living in Germany, allegedly defrauded a hotelier of about 850,000 CFA francs, as well as leaving accommodation and meals unpaid. He reportedly built trust by claiming connections to A’Salfo, Burkinabè officials and other public figures, and by promising land deals. The hotelier sent him several payments through Orange Money for various supposed needs before realizing he had been deceived on October 11. The man later claimed he was waiting for a 2,000-euro transfer, asked for money for a Yango ride, and then stopped responding.
