AGN Lagos mourns Olu Jacobs, hails Nollywood icon

The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Lagos State Chapter, mourned the death of veteran actor and filmmaker Oludotun Baiyewu Jacobs, known as Olu Jacobs, who passed away on September 16, 2026, at the age of 84. In a statement, AGN's Acting Chairperson, Hon. High Chief Erelu Ikubuwaje Funmilayo Mary Edward, extended condolences to the Jacobs family and praised Jacobs' contributions to the entertainment industry in Nigeria and Britain. Jacobs, who co-founded the Lufodo Group with his wife Joke Silva, received several accolades throughout his career, including the Best Actor award at the Africa Movie Academy Awards in 2007.
