Ghana loses $2.5 billion annually due to the lack of local processing of its agricultural products. At the Kwahu Business Forum 2026, Trade Minister Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare emphasized that this amount represents an opportunity for the government to change its economic model. Sectoral industrial frameworks are being prepared to promote agro-processing and light manufacturing, focusing on adding local value. A national agro-industry policy has also been finalized to support this initiative.
