Agriculture: Cameroon aims for 70,000 tonnes of certified seeds in the northern regions by 2026

The Cameroonian government aims to produce 70,000 tonnes of certified seeds in the three northern regions by 2026. On July 8, Agriculture Minister Gabriel Mbairobe delivered 83 tonnes of improved basic seeds from IRAD to producer organizations in Adamaoua, North, and Far North. These seeds will be multiplied on 7,500 hectares under the Integrated Import-Substitution Plan for Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries (PIISAH). No breakdown by crop was provided.
