Agroforestry: the cocoa sector seeks a common model to curb deforestation

In Abidjan, stakeholders in the cocoa sector gathered to discuss agroforestry approaches to reconcile cocoa production with deforestation efforts. The study presented, supported by the Coffee-Cocoa Council and FAO, highlights scattered initiatives and emphasizes the challenge of reliable field data. Joseph Nyemah from FAO stressed the need to transform the cocoa sector into a driver of reforestation.
