Ahead of US midterms, voters are frustrated with Trump and want change, poll finds

Weeks before the November 3 US midterm elections, 80 percent of respondents say the country needs substantial change or a complete upheaval, according to an AP-NORC poll of more than 1,100 adults. Democrats and independents are most likely to want a radical change in direction, though Republican voters also want some change. Economic concerns are weighing heavily on the vote: 85 percent name the economy as a major issue, and about eight in 10 registered voters disapprove of Donald Trump’s handling of the cost of living. The appetite for change could put Republican control of both chambers of Congress at risk.
